🌿 Anthurium
Anthurium andraeanum
Polished. Architectural. Bold in bloom.
Anthurium is known for its glossy, heart-shaped spathes and upright central spadix. Available in rich red, soft blush, crisp white, coral, and vibrant pink tones, this plant brings a refined pop of color into neutral interiors.
The blooms are long-lasting and sculptural, often holding their shape and shine for weeks at a time. Even when not in bloom, the deep green foliage carries presence.
This is a statement plant without being overwhelming.
🪴 Care Instructions:
☀️ Light:
Bright, indirect light is ideal. Too much direct sun can scorch leaves, while low light may reduce flowering.
💧 Water:
Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil feel dry. Keep soil lightly moist but never soggy. Ensure proper drainage.
🌡️ Temperature:
Thrives between 65–85°F. Avoid cold drafts and temperatures below 60°F.
💦 Humidity:
Prefers moderate to high humidity. Performs beautifully in kitchens, bathrooms, or near a humidifier.
🌱 Soil:
Well-draining, chunky mix. A blend designed for aroids or houseplants works best.
🌸 Bloom Notes:
With proper light and care, Anthuriums can bloom multiple times per year. Each colorful spathe is technically a modified leaf, which is why the “flower” lasts so long.
🐾 Pet Friendly:
Not pet safe. Anthuriums contain calcium oxalate crystals and can cause irritation, drooling, and gastrointestinal upset if ingested by cats or dogs.
Keep out of reach of pets.
